Rising to Challenges: Quarter2 Progress

  As I look back on the second quarter of Grade 10, I feel like I’ve learned so much about myself and what I’m truly capable of. The beginning of the quarter wasn’t easy. The excitement of starting a new school year had worn off, and now it felt like the real work had begun. With every test, assignment, and project, there were moments when I questioned myself. “Can I really handle all of this?” I asked myself more times than I care to admit. At first, it seemed like the second quarter was going to be harder than the first. The lessons were more challenging, and the pressure started to build. There were nights when I stayed up late, feeling overwhelmed by everything I had to do. It was easy to feel like I wasn’t good enough or that I wasn’t keeping up.   The Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) Act of 2004 and Republic Act (RA) No. 9262 are pivotal laws that address the pervasive issue of violence against women and children in the Philippines. These laws aim to protect women and children from various forms of abuse, including physical, sexual, emotional, and psychological violence, particularly within intimate relationships. The VAWC Act provides victims with vital protective measures such as Temporary Protection Orders (TPOs) and Permanent Protection Orders (PPOs), and promotes coordinated efforts across law enforcement, social services, and legal aid. The law acknowledges the multi-dimensional nature of violence and underscores the importance of addressing the impact on children who are exposed to or directly experience abuse.
